Kike Mateo:Un crack en el banquillo

Como ya sabeis no solemos escribir mucho de futbol en este blog, pero creo que esta ocasión se lo merece. Vamos a hacer una breve introdución para que os podais enterar mejor del tema.
Kike Mateo, jugador del Real Sporting de Gijón, nacido en Murcia allá por 1979, llegó a Gijón en el año 2007 para incorporarse a la disciplina del conjunto rojiblanco, en estos 3 años que lleva en Gijón se ha convertido en uno de los idolos de toda la afición, no es para menos, cuando fué uno de los artifices de la vuelta a primera división en el año 2008 despues de pasar, con mas pena que gloria, 10 años por el infierno de la segunda división.
Este año no está contando mucho para el entrenador y no disfruta todos los minutos que él querria, en total este año lleva nada mas que 71 minutos en liga, pero la afición no olvida lo que ha dado a este club y por ello en el ultimo partido en El Molinón (Sporting 1 – 1 Valencia) cuando salió a calentar en el 2º tiempo se vivió una de las mayores ovaciones que se han vivido en un campo de futbol, y esto no fué nada comparado con el momento en que se despojó del chandal y se preparó para saltar al terreno de juego,os pongo un video para que veais como resonaba El Molinón en otro partido (No hay videos de ese momento, o por lo menos no los he encontrado) cuando salia Kike Mateo, aunque ya os aviso que no es nada comparado con lo vivido el sabado pasado:
Y ahora vamos con la noticia en si, el miercoles 17 de febrero de 2010 sale en un periodico asturiano una entrevista a este crack y solo con leer el titular de la entrevista se me ha puesto la piel de gallina, os dejo con la entrevista completa:
«Doy gracias a Dios por acertar el día que firmé por este club; me dejaré la piel cada minuto que juegue por esta afición»
Kike Mateo (Murcia, 1979) aún se emociona al recordar cómo la afición rojiblanca le reclamó para jugar ante el Valencia y por cómo le animaron cuando saltó al campo a falta de 20 minutos. Este centrocampista de 30 años, cumplidos en diciembre, tiene claro que «volver a jugar con el equipo y pisar un estadio con esa gente que me dio tanto me hace sentirme futbolista. Creo que pocos jugadores vivieron a toda la afición coreando su nombre. Es para estar muy satisfecho».
El murciano añade que «ahora no estaba jugando y eso tiene mayor mérito por parte de la afición. Es muy bonito para el jugador porque ves que la gente entiende que es cuando más necesitas tenerla cerca de ti. Es como lo que pasa en la vida real con los grandes amigos. Estoy muy contento que el público me apoye así cuando las cosas no me están saliendo bien o cuando no tengo los minutos que me gustaría».
Se le nota a Kike Mateo que lo sucedido frente al Valencia, recordatorio de la época en la que se le designó como uno de los héroes del ascenso, «no lo voy a olvidar en la vida. Doy gracias a Dios de haber acertado el día que firmé por este club y la afición que tiene porque pocos futbolistas vivieron esto. Soy un privilegiado en estos dos años y medio en el Sporting aunque el último año y pico esté jugando menos».
Cuando se le habla de que la negativa de Michu a venir al Sporting fue clave para que él no fuera al Celta, Kike Mateo responde que «no es cierto. No voy a hablar de temas que ya son antiguos pero tengo contrato con el Sporting y mi idea era acabarlo. Es verdad que había interés del Celta pero puse mis condiciones y ellos no llegaron. Tengo un caché y una categoría que me lo gané a pulso y mi futuro lo elijo yo. Y como no llegaron a un acuerdo, sigo aquí, que era lo que quería».
En esta Liga Mateos lleva disputados 71 minutos en cinco sustituciones, aparte de la Copa del Rey. La penúltima vez que jugó fue ante el Sevilla, los diez últimos minutos sustituyendo a Míchel. Kike Mateo señala que «me queda contrato hasta final de temporada y no sé si seguiré aquí. Tengo 16 partidos en 3 meses y espero jugar más minutos. Voy a aprovechar al máximo ese tiempo que me de el entrenador para defender a este club, a este equipo y a esta afición. En cada minuto de competición me voy a dejar el alma y la piel porque también es un privilegio estar en Primera».
Aún lamenta que Bilic no le pasara el balón en la última ocasión ante el Valencia, que pudo haber significado el triunfo. «De haber marcado hubiera sido una día redondo. Son detalles y cosas del fútbol; Mate no me vio y decidió chutar. Si hubiera marcado, ahora no hablaríamos de esto», asegura. No obstante Kike Mateo valora mucho el punto ante el Valencia porque «era ante un grande y con muchos internacionales. Lo principal es sumar porque la Liga es regularidad. A veces te pueden salir buenos partidos como ante el Valencia o peores como en Almería. Así que ahora tenemos que ir a Zaragoza a sumar ante un rival duro y directo».
En definitiva un crack que sabe que en esto del futbol una parte muy importante son los sentimientos, mas allá del dinero, y sabe que donde está la gente le quiere y le va a apoyar en las buenas y en las malas.
