Estandarización PDF (Portable Document Format)

El Adobe PDF (Portable Document Format) 1.7 fue aprobado como un formato estándar internacional por la International Standards Organization (ISO).
Ahora se anuncia que la propuesta que había hecho Adobe en febrero de 2007 para estandarizar PDF 1.7 como ISO 32000 ha sido aprobada, con un total de votos de 13 a favor y 1 en contra. Se han enviado, además, por parte de unos cuantos países una serie de comentarios que tendrán que ser discutidos a posteriori.
Esto significa que el formato PDF se convierte en un estándar real, aunque ya lo era de facto y tendrá muchos más números para ser escogido por las empresas. Una buena noticia que se contrapone al intento de estandarizar OpenXML de Microsoft, un formato mal definido y que, probablemente, solo habría sido bien implementado en los productos de la propia empresa.
